AAPS PharmSci 360 Closing Plenary Highlights Intersection of Therapeutics and Engineering
Arlington, VA—Innovations in drug development through engineering techniques will be the focus of the closing session at AAPS PharmSci 360 on Wednesday, November 12, at 4:15 p.m.
Daniel Anderson, Ph.D., Professor in Chemical Engineering and the Institute for Medical Engineering and Science at the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research, MIT, will close out the event with an in-depth look at his team’s research into the use of biological and chemical engineering to develop therapeutics.
Recent research conducted by his lab includes applications involving in vivo wireless devices, injectable bioelectronics, AI-guided design of lipid nanoparticles, and inhalable dry powders. Dr. Anderson received a Ph.D. in molecular genetics from the University of California at Davis and his work has led to advances in a range of areas, including medical devices, cell therapy, drug delivery, gene therapy and material science.
“Connecting engineering with drug discovery and development is no longer science fiction,” AAPS 2025 PharmSci 360 Scientific Programming Committee Vice-Chair Parag Kolhe, Ph.D., said. “Dr. Anderson's presentation will be highly engaging and informative, offering a look at both current developments in the field as well as the broader horizon.”
PharmSci 360 will take place November 9-12 in San Antonio, Texas, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. To learn more and to register, visit http://www.aaps.org/pharmsci360.
