AAPS PharmSci 360 Opening Session Shines Light on Research Integrity
Panelists to Discuss Current State of Qualified Science
Arlington, VA—As part of AAPS’ commitment to being a model for maintaining the integrity of research and delivering peer-reviewed research by qualified scientists, the opening session of the 2024 AAPS PharmSci 360 will feature a panel discussion on research integrity on Oct. 20 at 5 p.m. MT.
The panel will feature Ivan Oransky, M.D., Co-founder of Retraction Watch; Brian Nosek, Ph.D., Co-founder and Executive Director of the Center for Open Science; and Colby Vorland, Ph.D., Assistant Research Scientist at the Indiana University School of Public Health-Bloomington. Lynn Kamen, Ph.D., Scientific Officer at BioAgilytix Labs, will moderate the panel.
“Recent stories about research integrity around the world are a good reminder that such issues are everyone's concern, whether one is employed in academia, industry, government, or elsewhere,” Dr. Oransky said. “I'm glad to have the opportunity to engage AAPS members in this critical discussion.”
“Research integrity in the pharmaceutical industry is critical for developing safe and effective medications. Without integrity, the credibility of research can be compromised, leading to misinformation and potentially harmful consequences,” AAPS 2024 PharmSci 360 Scientific Programming Committee Chair Amit Desai, Ph.D., said. “We have an exceptional panel of experts who will discuss the integrity of research and the process of delivering peer-reviewed publications.”
PharmSci 360 will take place Oct. 20-23, in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the Salt Palace Convention Center. To learn more and to register, visit http://www.aaps.org/pharmsci360.
