AAPS Recognizes Importance of Quality in the Pharmaceutical Sciences
Webinar Featuring Executive Director to Address Recent Science in Pharmaceutical Quality
Arlington, VA—AAPS joins other industry organizations and partners in recognizing World Quality Month, an annual celebration led by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and ASQExcellence (ASQE).
In recognition of World Quality Month, AAPS Executive Director Tina Morris, Ph.D., will be interviewed about the latest trends in pharmaceutical quality by Ian Betteridge, Head of Content, for the publication European Pharmaceutical Review for the AAPS webinar, “Priorities for Pharmaceutical Quality Control,” scheduled for 12:30-2 p.m. ET on November 7.
“I encourage anyone working in the pharmaceutical industry, no matter their science or stage of the pharmaceutical continuum they work in, to attend this webinar,” Dr. Morris said. “Ensuring that our work adheres to quality standards is critical to ensuring the health and safety of patients worldwide.”
“Quality is critical at every point in the drug development lifecycle. I’m proud to be part of a community of scientists that is a leader in ensuring credible science in both research and its application,” 2025 AAPS President, Russell Weiner, Ph.D., FAAPS, said. “AAPS offers numerous resources to support high-quality approaches in our industry.”
In addition to the webinar, other AAPS resources on pharmaceutical quality include articles in the AAPS Newsmagazine and its four peer-reviewed journals. Last month, AAPS hosted a panel discussion on research integrity in the pharmaceutical sciences during the opening plenary of PharmSci 360 on October 20. This panel featured experts Ivan Oransky, M.D., Co-Founder, Retraction Watch; Brian Nosek, Ph.D., Co-founder and Executive Director, Center for Open Science; and Colby Vorland, Ph.D., Assistant Research Scientist, Indiana University School of Public Health-Bloomington. The recording of this panel discussion will be available to AAPS members and PharmSci 360 attendees shortly.
