Former AAPS President Diane J. Burgess, Ph.D., FAAPS, Receives NIPTE Highest Honor
Arlington, VA—AAPS is excited to announce that former president Diane J. Burgess, Ph.D., FAAPS, Distinguished Professor of Pharmaceutics, University of Connecticut, was selected as the 2024 David J. W. Grant NIPTE Distinguished Scholar in Basic Pharmaceutics by the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Technology and Education (NIPTE).
The David J. W. Grant NIPTE Distinguished Scholar Award is NIPTE’s highest recognition. This award honors achievements in the pharmaceutical sciences and technology.
Dr. Burgess is recognized for decades of research in the pharmaceutics and drug delivery space. Her work has primarily focused on microspheres, nanoparticles, liposomes, emulsions, and hydrogels.
She was president of AAPS in 2002 and elevated to Fellow in 2006. In addition, she has been recognized with numerous AAPS awards.
