AAPS Open Welcomes New Editorial Team
Arlington, VA—AAPS is excited to announce the new editorial team for AAPS Open, the association’s fully open access journal.
This six-member team will guide the editorial direction of the journal, ensuring the credibility of submitted research with a rigorous peer review process and access to the latest science in pharmaceutical development and commercialization.
Yongchao Su, Ph.D., Editor-in-Chief, is a Senior Principal Scientist in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Clinical Supplies at Merck & Co., Inc., with nearly a decade of experience in pharmaceutical research and development. Beyond his primary role, he is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the College of Pharmacy for both Purdue University and the University of Texas at Austin, and a Professor of Practice at the University of Connecticut.
Xiuling Lu, Ph.D., FAAPS, Editor, is a Professor at the University of Connecticut, Associate Director of Center for Pharmaceutical Processing Research. Her research is focused on innovative nanotechnologies that target difficult-to-treat cancers, optimization and evaluation of drug formulations and pharmaceutical processing, as well as the use of versatile imaging tools to improve pharmaceutical product quality.
Mo Maniruzzaman, Ph.D., Editor, is the Chair and Professor of Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery, and Research Professor in the Research Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (RIPS) at the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy. There, he leads the newly established Pharmaceutical Engineering and 3D Printing (PharmE3D) Lab.
Dana E. Moseson, PhD., Editor, is a Senior Principal Scientist working in the Formulation and Process Design group of the Drug Product Design department at Pfizer in Groton, CT, where she specializes in the formulation design, characterization, and manufacturing of early-stage clinical drug products using amorphous solid dispersion technology.
Yihong Qiu, Ph.D., FAAPS, Editor, is the founder of QPD Solutions LLC, a technical service company providing a broad range of scientific knowledge, technical skills, and training in rational product/process design, development, and commercial manufacturing. Prior to establishing QPD Solutions in 2022, he was a Senior Research Fellow in Formulation Sciences at AbbVie.
Chun-Wan Yen, Ph.D., Editor, is currently a Senior Principal Scientist in Synthetic Molecule Pharmaceutical Sciences at Genentech. She is the CMC lead for parenteral formulation development. Her research interests include drug delivery for exotic modalities such as oligonucleotides, peptides, and mRNAs to support undruggable targets.

American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit association of more than 7,000 scientists and professionals employed in academia, industry, regulatory, and other research related to the pharmaceutical sciences worldwide.
