Schrödinger Scientific Leader to Showcase Hybrid Physics/AI Drug Discovery Platform at AAPS National Biotechnology Conference

Arlington, VA—Lingle Wang, Ph.D., Senior Vice President of Scientific Development at Schrödinger Inc., will discuss a model for speeding up the drug discovery process that integrates physics-based simulation with leading-edge AI.  He will deliver the closing plenary remarks during the AAPS National Biotechnology Conference (NBC) on Thursday, May 14, at 2:45 p.m. in San Diego.

During his presentation, Dr. Wang will showcase a computational platform that can accurately predict physical properties at scale.  His talk will also feature case studies, including data from ongoing Phase 1b clinical studies.

Dr. Wang joined Schrödinger in 2012. He obtained his Ph.D. from Columbia University and has published extensively in the areas of free energy methods development, small molecule crystal structure predictions, and their applications in drug discovery and development.

“I am excited this program features Dr. Wang’s closing plenary, which highlights the powerful convergence of AI and physics-based modeling that is transforming drug discovery. His presentation will provide valuable insight into how these integrated approaches enhance predictive accuracy, improve decision-making, and accelerate the translation of candidates into clinical development,” AAPS 2026 NBC Scientific Programming Committee Chair Shuhua Bai, Ph.D., said. “This plenary reflects one of the most important trends in the field and serves as a strong and fitting conclusion to this year’s NBC program.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Lingle Wang as our closing plenary speaker. His pioneering integration of AI with rigorous physics‑based methods is not only transforming molecular design but is having a tangible impact on how the pharmaceutical industry discovers, optimizes, and advances new medicines,” AAPS 2026 NBC Scientific Programming Committee Vice Chair Steven Louie said. “Having Dr. Wang conclude NBC with real‑world examples of how these technologies are accelerating translational progress perfectly captures the forward‑looking spirit of this meeting.”

NBC takes place May 11-14 in San Diego at the Sheraton San Diego Resort. To learn more and to register, visit www.aaps.org/nbc.
