AAPS Executive Leadership IND-Enabling Series
February 24-25

Arlington, VA—AAPS is excited to announce the virtual, executive-oriented workshop, “AAPS Executive Leadership IND-Enabling Series.” Business leaders and scientists converge to discuss strategies that ensure successful IND submissions, beginning in the basic research phase.

Sessions provide practical guidance on a roadmap for IND-enabling programs that navigates the timelines, costs, risks, and the decision points that can make or break a program. Topics include toxicology programs, selecting an appropriate CDMO, and how to prepare for a pre-IND meeting with FDA. Speakers include Jennifer Ahearn of GMPACT, April Joice, Ph.D., of Southern Research, Kyle Kalbarczyk, Ph.D., of Olon USA, Bryan Tayafeh of Ionis Pharmaceuticals, and Richard Thakor, Ph.D., of the University of Minnesota.

This workshop continues a conversation that began at the 2025 PharmSci 360 during the executive session on November 10.

“There are many pitfalls when it comes to IND submissions,” AAPS 2026 Business Development Committee Chair Robert Poe, M.B.A., said. “This is an opportunity for pharmaceutical leaders to learn about a holistic approach to IND submissions that begins from the earliest stages and carries through to final submission.”

AAPS Executive Leadership IND-Enabling Series” is scheduled for February 24-25. The workshop will be recorded and made available for access following the workshop.
