AAPS Elevates Eight Members to Fellow Status for 2026
Fellows Program Recognizes Scientific Impact, Leadership, and Service
Arlington, VA—AAPS is pleased to announce that eight members have been selected for elevation to Fellow status in recognition of their professional excellence and sustained superior impact in fields relevant to AAPS’ mission: advancing the capacity of pharmaceutical scientists to develop products and therapies that improve global health.
The new Fellows will be formally inducted before the membership at PharmSci 360 on Sunday, October 25.
AAPS Fellows are nominated by AAPS members. The status of Fellow denotes professional excellence and a sustained, positive impact on global health and the AAPS community.
“The Fellows Committee is grateful to the members who took the time to prepare thoughtful nominations, and to the AAPS staff whose initial screening made our work possible. What struck the committee this year was the breadth of the class—from dissolution science and bioanalysis to translational PK/PD and formulation development. Each of these scientists has changed how their discipline is practiced," said AAPS 2026 Fellows Committee Chair Bhaskara R. Jasti, Ph.D., FAAPS. "I look forward to celebrating these eight remarkable scientists with our membership in New Orleans."

The following AAPS members have been elevated to Fellow in 2026.
Robert Arnold, Ph.D., FAAPS
Robert Arnold, Ph.D., of Auburn University, is recognized for his pioneering research addressing exposure-driven frameworks that effectively integrate drug delivery, PK/PD, and rational dosing to enhance drug efficacy and reduce toxicity.
Amit Desai, Ph.D., FAAPS
Amit Desai, Ph.D., of Astellas Pharma, is recognized for high-impact contributions that have advanced clinical pharmacology, pharmacometrics, and model-informed drug development to shape dose selection, trial design, labeling, and regulatory decision-making across multiple therapeutic areas.
Boris Gorovits, Ph.D., FAAPS
Boris Gorovits, Ph.D., of Regeneron, is recognized for his international leadership and sustained contributions in bioanalysis, immunogenicity assessment, and regulatory science. His work has significantly advanced the development and evaluation of complex biotherapeutics and emerging therapeutic modalities.
Andre Hermans, Ph.D., FAAPS
Andre Hermans, Ph.D., of Merck, is recognized for his impact as a leader in dissolution science, in vitro performance testing, and analytical development for small molecule drug products. His research has helped transform dissolution testing from a quality control tool into a clinically relevant, mechanistic discipline that links material properties, formulation design, and process parameters to in vivo performance.
Fenglei Huang, Ph.D., FAAPS
Fenglei Huang, Ph.D., of Boehringer Ingelheim, is recognized for significant contributions to the development and approval of numerous important medicines through his work in drug development, translational PK/PD, pediatric development, and drug-drug interactions. His work has supported the development and/or approval of multiple important medicines, including Pradaxa®, Skyrizi®, Viramune®, Aptivus®, and Reminyl®.
Alf Lamprecht, Ph.D., FAAPS
Alf Lamprecht, Ph.D., of the University of Bonn is recognized for his international leadership in pharmaceutical science, demonstrated through his influential research, impactful innovations, extensive collaborations, and strong commitment to advancing both science and the next generation of researchers.
Sandip Tiwari, Ph.D., FAAPS
Sandip Tiwari, Ph.D., of BASF Corporation, is recognized for his scientific leadership in translating formulation and drug delivery science into regulatory-relevant, practice-changing solutions, with demonstrated impact, from early development through commercialization.
Faye Vazvaei, M.S., FAAPS
Faye Vazvaei, M.S., of Merck, is recognized for scientific contributions that have shaped modern regulated bioanalysis and biomarker science, including pioneering quantitative protein bioanalysis by LC-MS, advancing assay reproducibility through ISR best practices, influencing biomarker implementation and standards in the CLIA-regulated environment, and driving global harmonization through ICH M10 to deliver regulatory-ready strategies that enable high impact medicines.
