AAPS and BioIVT to Collaborate on Interactive Exchange About NAMs
Scientists Encouraged to Register for September 10 Virtual Event
Arlington, VA—AAPS and BioIVT are excited to announce a collaboration on a unique online opportunity to dive deep into the issues surrounding the adoption of New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) across drug discovery and development on September 10, at 1pm ET.
“Advancing NAMs Together: An Interactive Exchange of Insights & Expertise,” uses the Natter platform to facilitate online discussion and active sharing of information. Participants are encouraged to bring their perspective to an interactive, cross-sector conversation that explores the impact of NAMs, barriers to broader adoption, and strategies to advance applications across research, development, and regulatory decision-making.
Insights will be anonymously captured and shared with participants after the webinar.
“The era of animal testing alternatives has arrived with both the FDA and EMA actively supporting NAMs as a pathway to clinical trials. Interest across drug development has surged, and there is a true need for authentic dialogue on this topic beyond traditional forms of scientific discussion,” AAPS Scientific Advisory Committee Past Chair Mark E. Arnold, Ph.D., FAAPS, said. “This event changes that by offering a unique platform for all participants to discuss one of the most consequential shifts in modern drug development."
“Moving NAMs into routine practice requires more than technical innovation. It requires understanding how needs, expectations, and implementation challenges differ among the groups that develop, apply, evaluate, and act on the data. By bringing those perspectives together, this interactive exchange can help identify shared needs, important differences, and practical priorities for moving NAMs forward,” BioIVT Consulting Director of Scientific Affairs Kent Grindstaff, Ph.D., said.
The event is open to the wider scientific community at no charge. To register, click here.
