Alice E. Till Advancement of Women in Pharmaceutical Sciences Recognition

The purpose of the Alice E. Till Advancement of Women in Pharmaceutical Sciences Recognition celebrates and honors an AAPS member who has contributed significantly to the mentorship, advancement, and/or support of women in the pharmaceutical sciences. Nominees will be considered based on contributions to promote the professional development, success, and recognition of women in the pharmaceutical sciences. The ideal nominee will have made an impactful contribution through one or more avenues, including his/her institution, employer, or professional organization.

Nomination Information Past Recipients   

This recognition will be presented to the recipient at AAPS PharmSci 360, October 17-20, 2021. The recipient will also receive complimentary registration to PharmSci and reimbursement for travel up to $1,000.

Nominations may be made by self, peer, or committee of peers.

Lynne S. Taylor, Ph.D., FAAPS, has contributed to the fundamental understanding and implementation of these formulations. Her studies have included evaluating solid state stability, developing a new understanding of release mechanisms, translation of findings toward in vivo predictability, and an improved description of supersaturation in biorelevant fluids. These research contributions have been used both by drug development and regulatory scientists to aid in the development of robust and efficacious ASDs.

Supporters hope this $10,000 award, presented every other year, will allow recipients to further their research in this field and promote progress in pharmaceutics. The award, which was created by Wurster, has attracted support from individuals and organizations who recognize Wurster’s scientific contributions as well as his role as a founder of AAPS. 2021 AAPS Emerging Leader Award

Recognizing scientists and pharmaceutical professionals who are early in their careers and who have made a significant the pharmaceutical sciences that promotes pubic health.


Qi (Tony) Zhou, Ph.D., is an University Faculty Scholar Associate Professor at Purdue University. He has made outstanding contributions to the pharmaceutical formulations manufactured by novel drying technologies and the advanced characterizations to understand formulation quality. Zhou has proven himself as an emerging leader in professional communities, particularly in AAPS. He is an Editor of AAPS PharmSciTech (an official journal of AAPS) and Vice-Chair of AAPS Inhalation and Nasal Community.
