Volunteer for the AAPS People and Member Culture Committee

AAPS is seeking dedicated members to help keep AAPS a welcoming place for all scientists!

Submit your application by December 17 at 5:00pm ET.

The People and Member Culture Committee helps the Board ensure that AAPS is a welcoming organization to all scientists; provides a transparent, inclusive experience for all members; and creates equitable access to valuable personal and professional development opportunities.

Requirements for Members:

  • Membership in AAPS at time of appointment and throughout service
  • Prepare for and attend hour-long, monthly meetings
  • Attend hour-long committee meetings as a liaison on behalf of the committee if asked
  • Use AAPS' web-based platforms, including Microsoft Teams and the AAPS Communities, to participate in committee meetings, access agendas, and exchange information with other Board members
  • Support and promote the AAPS Diversity Statement (PDF)

AAPS Seeks Fellows Committee Members

AAPS is accepting applications for the vice chair position and member positions to serve on the AAPS Fellows Committee for a three-year term from February 2026 to July 2028.

The AAPS Fellows Committee oversees the selection of Fellows, recognizing select AAPS members for their scientific impact in the field.

You must be an AAPS Fellow to apply for this role. Read the AAPS Fellows Handbook (PDF) and the Fellows Committee Charter (PDF) to learn more.

Application Deadline: Friday, December 19, at 5:00pm ET

Qualifications and Responsibilities

  • Must be an AAPS member at time of application and throughout service
  • Must be an AAPS Fellow
  • Must use electronic platforms to receive and review nominations and participate in mandatory committee training and discussion
  • Maintain confidentiality during service and afterward
  • Act impartially and diligently
  • Declare conflicts of interest to the chair and recuse themselves from discussions and votes taken on such nominations
  • Promote the Fellows program to members in general terms through social media, AAPS Communities, and their professional network

Members of this committee commit to:

  • Participating in committee conference calls as needed, however, not more than once per month
  • Participating in a two-day virtual Fellows Committee meeting in July
  • Reviewing assigned nomination packets between May and July
  • Sharing insights and making recommendations to other committee members on candidates

Attention: Fellows Committee members may submit self-nominations for the vice chair position while serving on this committee. Complete the application form.

Volunteer to serve on the AAPS Awards Committee for 2026

Help AAPS recognize today’s leading pharmaceutical scientists!

AAPS seeks experienced AAPS members to serve on the AAPS Awards Committee!

The Awards Committee oversees the AAPS Awards Program, which brings attention to, and celebrates, impactful science as well as the scientists who serve as role models in the pharmaceutical science community.

Available Positions

AAPS is seeking applications for the vice chair position as well as member positions to serve on the Awards Committee.

  • Committee members serve a two-year term from January 2026–November 2027
  • The vice chair serves a three-year term as a committee officer (vice chair, chair, and then past chair) beginning in January 2026

Qualifications

Applicants must:

  • Be a member of AAPS at the time of application and throughout service
  • Be a member of at least one AAPS Community
  • Have at least 8 years of professional pharmaceutical experience in an academic, industry, regulatory, or related setting
  • Maintain confidentiality and treat candidate information with discretion
  • Act impartially and diligently
  • Use web-based software, including the award submission platform and Microsoft Teams, to attend meetings and evaluate nominations
  • Use personal networks, social media, and the AAPS Communities to promote the AAPS Awards program in general terms

Attention Vice Chair Applicants: All applicants for vice chair—including members now serving on the Awards Committee—must complete this form to apply for the role. Applicants for vice chair must be currently employed in the pharmaceutical sciences at a senior level (e.g., director or associate professor). 

Duties

  • Participate in monthly conference calls and dedicate additional time in May and June to screen nominations and meet with selection committees to choose recipients
  • Review nominees’ award submissions through a web-based reviewing platform
  • Maintain the confidentiality of the committee during and after service
