Code of Conduct

Community Rules & Etiquette and Privacy Guidelines

Thank you for being part of our community. AAPS has established this site to serve as a venue for professional networking and communications in support of the members of the pharmaceutical scientists’ community.

To ensure the best possible experience for all members, we have established some guidelines for participation. The purpose of these guidelines of conduct is to address behavior, not to censor content or to inhibit conversation about late-breaking or controversial ideas. By joining and using this community, you agree that you have read and will follow these rules and guidelines.

By joining and using this community, you agree that you have read and will follow these rules and guidelines. You agree to reserve discussions and shared files to those related to the purpose of this forum. This is a great medium with which to solicit the advice of your peers, benefit from their experience, and participate in an ongoing conversation. Questions should be directed to our member services department through the Contact Us link on this site.

Please take a moment to acquaint yourself with these important guidelines. If you have questions, contact the member services department. In order to preserve an environment that encourages both civil and fruitful dialogue, we reserve the right to remove any content AAPS deems inappropriate and to suspend or terminate membership in this community for anyone who violates these rules.

The Rules

•        Respect others. Focus on the content of posts and not on the people making them. Please extend the benefit of the doubt to new guests and members; there’s no such thing as a stupid question. Don't attack others. The discussions and comments are meant to stimulate conversation, not to create contention. Let others have their say, just as you may.

•        Respect the purpose of the community. Use the community to share successes, challenges, constructive feedback, questions, and goals instead of products or services that you provide. If you’ve found a product or service helpful, please share your experience with the group in a respectful way.

•        Commercial messages and promotions are not permitted in the community. We welcome you to share information about upcoming conferences, new research, and helpful products, but in a way, that benefits the entire community. For example, creating a discussion around the content of an upcoming conference and gaining insight on recommended courses is acceptable. Uploading marketing material about the conference without engaging members for feedback or advice is not. When in doubt, please contact [email protected] and we will help you formulate a post that meets the guidelines. AAPS reserves the right to promote AAPS sponsored and co-sponsored events and activities in the community.

•        Job postings are not permitted in the community. AAPS provides a separate service that helps you promote job openings. Please visit careerfair.aaps.org for more information.

•        Use caution when discussing products. Information posted on the discussion groups and in the libraries is available for any visitor to see, and comments are subject to libel, slander, and antitrust laws.

•        All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials are strictly prohibited, and AAPS will remove it. Do not post anything that you would not want the world to see or that you would not want anyone to know came from you.

•        Respect intellectual property. Post content that you have personally created or have permission to use and have properly attributed to the content creator.

•        When posting items in our collaborative environment, please indicate if the item is not available for reuse. It’s also advisable to contact the owner of any material if you would like to reuse it.

•        Post your message or documents only to the most appropriate communities. This helps ensure all messages receive the best response by eliminating "noise."

•        AAPS respects the AAPS Community. We understand that people may inadvertently violate the rules, and we will not immediately ban someone from the community following a single violation. Rather, AAPS follows a graduated enforcement policy for these guidelines.

•        Note carefully all items listed in the disclaimer and legal rules below, particularly regarding the copyright ownership of information posted.

•        Please note that anything you post may be copied by others on the site and shared.

The AAPS Community is not a social media platform. It is not open to the public; members must be logged in to access any content.

Anonymous posting is available for use if you would not like your name/company associated with a post. Keep in mind that anonymous posts are subject to the same rules as those attached to your name.

Discussion Group Etiquette

State concisely and clearly the topic of your comments in the subject line. This allows members to respond more appropriately to your posting and makes it easier for members to search the archives by subject.

Send messages such as "thanks for the information" or "me, too" to individuals, not to the entire list. Do this by using the "Reply to Sender" link in every message.

Do not send administrative messages, such as “remove me from the list,” to the group. Instead, use the web interface to change your settings or to remove yourself from a list. If you are changing email addresses, you do not need to remove yourself from the list and rejoin under your new email address. Simply change your settings.

Privacy Policy

AAPS respects the privacy of members and visitors accessing this website and other websites maintained by AAPS, and takes seriously its responsibilities regarding the privacy and security of customer information and visitor information. AAPS reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes to the Privacy Policy shall be announced via this website.

Aggregate data which has been de-identified may be used by AAPS and by third parties to track usage of AAPS's websites and applications. AAPS will not sell, trade or rent your personal information to third parties.

You understand and agree that perfect security does not exist anywhere, including on the Internet. When you send credit card information to AAPS over the Internet, AAPS encrypts this information between your computer and our server. Other information you send to AAPS, including email messages, will not be encrypted unless AAPS advises you otherwise. AAPS may use cookies on its websites. AAPS has technical and organizational security measures intended to prevent unauthorized or unlawful disclosure or access to, or accidental or unlawful loss of or destruction, or alteration or unauthorized disclosure of or access to, or other damage to your personal data. These measures are intended to ensure an appropriate level of security in relation to the risks inherent in the processing and the nature of the personal data to be protected.

AAPS only keeps your information for as long as we are either required to by law, or as is relevant for the purposes for which it was collected. You may contact AAPS at any time if you would like to correct, update, supplement or delete personal data. You may also contact AAPS at any time to opt-out of receiving communications from AAPS at the point where AAPS requests information about you. AAPS makes no representations with respect to the accuracy, integrity, or quality of any such Content, and shall not in any way be liable for any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of the use of any Content posted, emailed, transmitted or otherwise made available via the Service.

You are solely responsible for any Content posted by you on the Site or offered by you through a Service, including, without limitation, for any errors or omissions in any Content, or any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of the use of any Content posted, emailed, transmitted, or otherwise made available via the Services.          4.      No advice or information, whether oral or written, obtained by you from the AAPS or through or from the service shall create any warranty not expressly stated in these Terms.

10.    Limitation of Liability.

AAPS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE, AND CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THESE TERMS, THE SITE, THE SERVICES, THE INABILITY TO USE ANY SERVICE, OR THOSE RESULTING FROM ANY GOODS OR SERVICES PURCHASED OR OBTAINED OR MESSAGES RECEIVED OR TRANSACTIONS ENTERED INTO THROUGH THE SERVICES.
