Welcome to the BIOTEC Section web page.
As the 2008 Section Chair, I encourage all members of AAPS to use our Section as a resource, and to consider joining the Section as a Primary Member if your career interests involve biotechnology. The AAPS BIOTEC Section is comprised of members from diverse backgrounds in industry, academia, and government who share a common interest in the rapidly evolving field of applied biotechnology.
The AAPS BIOTEC Section aspires to make AAPS the premier organization worldwide for scientists dedicated to the discovery, development and manufacture of biotechnology-related pharmaceutical products and therapies through advances in science and technology. We provide a dynamic international forum for the exchange of biotechnology-related knowledge among scientists to enhance their contributions to health. Our Section seeks to enable individuals from multiple scientific disciplines to access the highest quality programming and publications. The Section supports career development of its members by providing valuable opportunities for networking, volunteer participation, and educational benefits relevant to research, development, and commercialization of new biopharmaceuticals. Moreover, we actively seek opportunities for students and recent Biotec graduates within our Section.
This is your Section; Section leadership exists to coordinate resources so that we can best meet your needs. The 2006 BIOTEC Section Executive Committee welcomes your participation and input. Please consider the many ways you can influence our efforts through active participation as a volunteer. If you would like to discuss the Section or ways you would like to be involved, contact AAPS or a member of our Section’s executive committee (provided on this Website).
