WHAT IS BIOTEC?
The AAPS BIOTEC Section is comprised of members from diverse backgrounds in industry,
academia, and government who share a common interest in the rapidly evolving field
of biotechnology. The primary goal of this section is to unite individuals from
multiple scientific disciplines in a forum where they can address issues, share
information, and experimental findings, as well as provide education and training
for research, development, and commercialization of new biopharmaceuticals. Successful
R&D, manufacturing, delivery, and commercialization of biotechnology derived drugs
requires input and participation from scientists across diverse fields, including
modern biochemistry and molecular biology, cell culture, formulation sciences, drug
delivery, analytical biochemistry and immunology, pharmacokinetics, metabolism,
regulatory affairs, and clinical sciences.
