Founded in 1986, the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) is
an individual membership society of approximately 12,000 pharmaceutical scientists who have joined
together to serve the public and their own common professional interests. AAPS is
not a trade organization; it is a non-profit organization that serves as an educational,
scientific and scholarly body.
The Media Room of AAPS Pharmaceutica is intended for journalists to gain information
on AAPS; stay current with breaking scientific research and trends affecting the
industry; and get in touch with experts through the
AAPS Pharmaceutical Scientist Expert Center.
Public Policy Statement
AAPS public policy positions are developed by the AAPS standing committees
in conjunction with the AAPS Public Outreach Department and approved by the AAPS
Executive Council. These are position statements that define AAPS official policy
on specific scientific subjects only. Political positions will not be considered.
