Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics and Drug Metabolism Section

About PPDM

Vision

To make PPDM the premier AAPS section of scientists dedicated to the discovery, development, and manufacture of pharmaceutical products and therapies in science and technology, especially with issues related to the biopharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, metabolism, and transport of new and existing drugs.

Mission

The objective of the PPDM section is to provide a forum to examine issues related to the biopharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, metabolism and transport of new and existing drugs. PPDM brings together those qualified individuals whose research interests include drug and chemical actions, disposition, and biotransformation at the organism, tissue, cellular, and subcellular levels. The section provides an opportunity for the presentation of new data and an exchange of ideas by individuals actively engaged in the various facets of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, drug metabolism, transport, biopharmaceutics, and related sciences. This scientific exchange will enable scientists from academia, industry, and regulatory agencies to jointly advance their professional development and respective disciplines. PPDM recognizes the need for education and training of new scientists. The section assists in the recruitment of new graduate students, supports graduate faculty, and invites graduate student participation within PPDM.
