Free AAPS Webinar on Validation of Flow Cytometry Instruments in Drug Development

WHO:
The American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) is a professional, scientific society of approximately 12,000 members employed in industry academia, government, and other research institutes worldwide. Founded in 1986, AAPS provides a dynamic international forum for the exchange of knowledge among scientists to enhance their contributions to public health. AAPS offers timely scientific programs, on-going education, information resources, opportunities for networking, and professional development.

WHAT:
AAPS is pleased to present the complimentary eLearning Webinar on Validation of Flow Cytometry Instruments in Drug Development. This presentation is organized by the AAPS Ligand Binding Assay Bioanalytical focus group and will be conducted by Cherie Green, Thomas McCloskey, Ph.D., and Yaunxin Xu, Ph.D.

WHY:
Flow cytometry is a powerful and flexible analytical tool used during all stages of drug development. While substantial effort is invested in development and validation of analytical methods for biomarkers, instrument validation is often neglected. Rapid technological advances and extended timelines for bringing a drug from discovery to the clinic often create unique challenges for ensuring date integrity. This Webinar will provide an overview of key concepts for validation of flow cytometry platforms in regulated environments (pre-clinical, early phase clinical). The focus will be on understanding the key issues for ensuring date integrity across instruments, analysts, time, and geographic locations. It will also cover method development/validation key parameters and discuss challenges.

WHEN:
December 5, 2011
12:30 PM to 2:00 PM EDT
