AAPS Welcomes New Series Editor
ARLINGTON, VA. (December 16, 2011)—The American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) is proud to announce that Robert A. Lipper, Ph.D., has been named coeditor of the AAPS Advances in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Series. Dr. Lipper will team up with AAPS and its publishing partner, Springer, to propose new volumes and authors to develop the series.
"I am delighted and honored to team with Daan Crommelin as coeditor of the Advances in Pharmaceutical Sciences book series,” said Lipper. “I’m looking forward to working with Daan as well as the staff of Springer and AAPS to make new volumes on the most relevant and timely topics available to the global pharmaceutical sciences community."
Dr. Lipper established his consulting business, Back Cove Pharma, LLC, in 2008. The firm provides general consulting in pharmaceutical development as well as education services, with emphasis on solving early development challenges with small molecule drug candidates. Dr. Lipper retired from Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. in 2008 as Vice President, Biopharmaceutics Research and Development.
“AAPS is excited to have Dr. Lipper on board as coeditor of this outstanding book series,” said AAPS Executive Director John Lisack, Jr. “His expertise will help leverage the series to have a global impact on the pharmaceutical society.”
Dr. Lipper is a member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and the Parenteral Drug Association. Additionally, he currently serves on the Dean’s Industrial Advisory Council for the Purdue University School of Pharmacy and the Dean’s Advisory Committee for the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy. He is on the editorial advisory board of the Journal of Pharmaceutical Innovation and served on the board of directors of the Product Quality Research Institute (PQRI) from 2001–2008 and as chairman from 2005–2008.
