The AAPS Bay Area discussion group (BADG) is a regional discussion group encompassing the San Francisco Bay area and the surrounding areas in northern California. The group is an affiliate of AAPS and began its membership drive in September 2005. The purpose of the group is to provide a local forum at which all interested in the advancement of the pharmaceutical sciences may meet and share their operational, scientific, and educational expertise.
Membership and participation in the BADG seminars and discussions are open to all interested parties. All BADG members are encouraged to join AAPS. Participation at the speaker forums is at the expense of the attendee. The membership will be informed of upcoming seminars and other activities of the discussion group by publication at this Web site, the AAPS Newsmagazine, or email.
The purpose of this group is to provide a local forum to discuss and share knowledge related to pharmaceutical sciences. Speakers will be experts within the broad scope of pharmaceutical sciences. Topics will include (but are not limited to): outsourcing, pharmaceutical technology, preformulation, formulation, toxicology, design of clinical trials, pharmacokinetics, drug delivery, and regulatory affairs.
There are three officers of BADG: the chair, vice chair, and secretary/treasurer. The vice chair succeeds to the chair upon the completion of his or her term of office. The vice chair and secretary/treasurer are elected annually for a one year term beginning in September. The election is conducted by written ballot of the full membership prior to the last program meeting of the year.
